Summer Interns for SiS Karlsvik, Day/Evening and Awake Night

The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care (SiS) is an authority responsible for individually adapted compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse. SiS also implements secure youth care. We do this in youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse, across the country. With us at SiS, your work life will be an exciting challenge. The Karlsvik department is a discharge-preparation unit located in Höör and is a branch of SiS youth home Hässleholm. The department focuses on young people who are in the discharge phase and who are not assessed to need care in locked forms.

We are now looking for summer interns for our new Karlsvik department during the summer of 2026!

  • We are looking for both those who can work full-time during the summer, but we also offer employment on an hourly basis for those who can work extra or part-time.
  • We are looking for summer interns with working hours during the day, evening, and weekends.
  • We are looking for those interested in working awake nights (weekdays and weekends).

Job Description

Through your employment as a treatment educator, you can make a difference for our youth. You have the opportunity for treatment work in a high-security environment with good staffing density. The youth at SiS have backgrounds marked by unpredictability and stress in various forms, which means your focus will be on professionally working with treatment, care, and motivational work, as well as being a support in everyday life. This is a job for you who see a positive challenge in working with vulnerable boys in a difficult life situation.

You will be part of the youths' daily life with cooking and cleaning routines, evening activities, etc. All activities are carried out safely and are carefully risk-assessed before implementation. You work on building secure relationships, as well as with selected and well-functioning treatment methods. Documentation is an important part of your work.

Qualifications

Requirements for the position are:

  • Post-secondary education of at least two years in accordance with the new Social Services Ordinance. This can be education in social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or other relevant fields. Exceptions to the educational requirement can be made, but only if there are special reasons. A special reason could be that you have long professional experience or other relevant competence.
  • Note! NO EXCEPTIONS FOR HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA.
  • Driver's license B
  • Good Swedish in speech and writing

Personal Qualities

To succeed in your work, you have a solid positive view of people. You are motivated to help people in a vulnerable life situation and you share SiS's values, to be a place for change. Furthermore, you have a good ability to create engagement and participation among our youth. As a person, you are self-assured and easily build relationships with youth as well as with other staff members. You have good communication skills and can maintain your calm even in pressured situations. You find it easy to collaborate with others and can handle conflicts constructively.

Employment:

The position is a fixed-term employment on a full-time or part-time basis. It may also be relevant to work extra under a temporary employment.

Start date according to agreement.

As a new employee, you will undergo an introductory week and have subsequent introduction in client-related work.

SiS has also decided to introduce a summer bonus for 2026 for summer interns in client-related work. The bonus is 2,500 SEK per completed week after at least 4 weeks, paid out in September after reconciliation.
